Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE)

The Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) is a state-level competitive recruitment process conducted by the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) under the Government of Assam. It was introduced to simplify and streamline the recruitment system for various Grade III and Grade IV posts across different government departments.

Earlier, each department conducted separate recruitment exams, which often led to delays and duplication. To overcome these issues, the ADRE system was launched to ensure transparency, efficiency, and fairness in state government recruitment.

Key Features:

    • Organized by: State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC), Assam
    • Purpose: To recruit eligible candidates for Grade III (clerical and technical) and Grade IV (support and field-level) posts in state government offices.
    • Eligibility:
✓ Grade III: Candidates with qualifications ranging from HSLC to Bachelor’s degree (depending on post category).
✓ Grade IV: Candidates who have passed Class VIII, HSLC, or equivalent.
    • Selection Process: Usually consists of a written examination, followed by a skill test/interview and document verification.
    • Departments Covered: Almost all government departments under the Assam Secretariat and field offices.

The ADRE has become one of the largest and most inclusive recruitment drives in Assamproviding employment opportunities to lakhs of job seekers every year. It plays a vital role in promoting merit-based selection and ensuring equal opportunity for candidates from all regions of the state.
